Benedictine and Franciscan Monks: Forgotten Inventors

Usually, when we think of religious orders, these things come to mind: a cloister, an abbey, a library, prayer in solitude, detachment from the world… All this in the cradle of a period defined as "dark" by historiography up to Romanticism: the Middle Ages . The Context

It's 1982, during a Black Sabbath concert in Des Moines, Iowa. Ozzy Osbourne, known for his eccentric personality and theatrical performances, was engaging his audience with his customary dose of wild energy. However, what was about to happen would exceed all expectations of extravagance.

The Incident

In a moment of pure adrenaline, an enthusiastic fan decided to present Ozzy with an unusual gift: a freshly deceased bat. Driven by his non-conformist spirit and the impulsiveness that defined him, Ozzy, without hesitation, grabbed the bad and swallowed it whole.
