Benedictine and Franciscan Monks: Forgotten Inventors

   Usually, when we think of religious orders, these things come to mind: a cloister, an abbey, a library, prayer in solitude, detachment from the world… All this in the cradle of a period defined as "dark" by historiography up to Romanticism: the Middle Ages . In this period the monks - especially the Benedictines of the various orders - were the custodians of Judeo-Christian but also classical culture, since thanks to their patient and meticulous transcriptions as scribes we have received almost all of the Greek and Latin works which we study today. Today we are grateful to them first of all for this.   However, many do not know that many products - material and immaterial - that we consume and use every day, come from monks who, using their ingenuity nourished by a profound spirituality, invented them due to practical necessities.    Personally, I find it amazing!    Let's begin…   The heavy plow   Plows were a primary agri...

Goat Debate: Who Do You Choose?




The debate over the greatest basketball player of all time, known as the "GOAT debate," has divided basketball fans for decades. At the center of this controversy are two legendary names: Michael Jordan and LeBron James. Both have left an indelible mark on NBA history, but who can claim the title of GOAT?

Michael Jordan: The Legend


Michael Jordan, also known as “His Airness,” dominated basketball in the 1990s with the Chicago Bulls. LeBron James: The Modern Force

LeBron James, nicknamed “King James,” revolutionized the game with his combination of size, skill and court vision. Capturing four NBA titles with three different teams and eight consecutive Finals, LeBron has proven himself to be a dominant force in modern basketball. He was named regular season MVP four times and put up impressive numbers in terms of points, rebounds and assists. His ability to influence every aspect of the game and his commitment to excellence made him one of the greatest of all time.

Beyond Statistics: Factors in the Debate



The comparison between Jordan and LeBron doesn't just stop at statistics. There are many other factors that are considered in the GOAT debate, including competitive mindset, cultural impact, and level of competition during their respective careers. Jordan was praised for his killer instinct and his ability to win in any situation, while LeBron was praised for his versatility and his ability to adapt to different game contexts.

A Continuing Debate


Despite passionate arguments on both sides, the debate over the GOAT in basketball remains open and subjective. The beauty of this comparison lies in being able to appreciate two extraordinary players who have left an indelible mark on the history of the NBA. Whether you're a Jordan or LeBron supporter, one thing's for sure: the debate will continue to heat up conversations among basketball fans for years to come.

Aren’t We All Poor Things?

  "Poor Things!", released in Italian theatres on January 25 2024, is a film by director Yorgos Lanthimos that presents itself as a startling and thought-provoking work. Through grotesque atmospheres and surreal hues, the film revisits the myth of Frankenstein in a modern key, focusing on the female figure of Bella Baxter (Emma Stone). A Five Years' Journey: Diary of a Graduating Girl

    Often in life, you make the mistake of taking many things for granted.
