What is blood composed of?
Blood is composed of red blood cells, white blood cells, platelets (about 45% of the total), and the remaining from plasma, each with a specific role.
What can I donate?
You can decide to donate whole blood or
only plasma. If you decide to donate blood, the blood sample volume will be
450ml and will last 10/15 min, while if you want to donate plasma, the volume
of the withdrawal will be 600/700ml and will last 45/50 min.
How to deal with the day of blood sampling?
The day of
donation is recommended to eat little and light food even the night before.
After donation, you are usually offered a good meal.

When can I donate blood?
Some days are organized to donate blood from some associations during the year. The next event is December 8th. And you have to wait at least 90 days between donations.
What are the benefits for blood givers?
There are no
economic benefits for the blood donor, but only personal. You have a healthy
lifestyle and your blood tests are always monitored.
Despite my fear of needles, I also decided to donate blood
